The M.S. degree is designed to provide in-depth, scientific, and research-based study in athletic training. There are two options: the thesis and the project. Both are designed for specialized study in athletic training. The thesis program requires a thesis and is a 33-hour program. The project program also emphasizes research, requires a data based research project, and requires 36 hours of study.
Admission
In addition to The Graduate School’s application requirements, applicants must submit a sample of expository writing to include future goals and specific research interests.
Degree Requirements
General degree requirements for the M.S. degree in athletic training include: |
Athletic Training (9-12 Hours)
Successful completion of a minimum of 9-12 graduate hours in athletic training selected from: Physical Education Pedagogy, Motor Behavior, or Exercise Science (3 Hours)
Comprehensive Examination
- Successful completion of a comprehensive examination.
Additional requirements include 9 hours in qualitative/quantitative research methodology
